Cooking corn can be easy, fun and delicious
This golden treat can be the highlight of your day or the thorn in your side - literally. But, it's an easy treat to prepare and great opportunity to shop at your favorite local farm and get the kids involved.
Corn can be an amazing side to a delicious vegan or vegetarian meal.
I prefer cooking whole corn still covered with the husk. The husk preserves the flavorful liquid and helps to create a sweet taste you won't soon forget.
Curate the Best Ear of Corn You Can Find Locally
Purchase fresh ears of corn still covered in husk from your favorite local farm, farmers market or eco-friendly retailer. Rinse the husk exterior. Place each ear of corn wrapped in foil onto a cookie sheet, add 1/4 cup of water to the cookie sheet, place into a pre-heated oven at 450 degrees (f) and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the steamed corn, allow to cool for 5 minutes and peel the husk, brush with vegan butter, garlic salt, pepper and enjoy.
